Curly parsley (Petroselinum crispum), also known as garden parsley, is thought to originate from Western Asia. Even the ancient Greeks and Romans used it as a culinary and medicinal plant. Parsley is a good source of vitamin A and C and can have a regulating effect on organisms.
Both European and eastern cuisines rely heavily on parsley. It is an ingredient of Frankfurt green sauce and is also used as a garnish.
Parsley adds an aromatic touch to dishes. It is best enjoyed finely chopped to release the flavour. It goes well with meat, fish, poultry and vegetable dishes.
Parsley should be stored at fridge temperature.
